Starting on a low heat, raise the temperature by no more than 200°F every 15 minutes allowing the block to heat to each temperature. Final cooking temperature should be around 500°F
Chill for 2 hours in the refrigerator prior to serving. The block will stay chilled for hours perfect for serving meats, cheeses, and other snacks
Cook on the same side of the tile each time. It is normal for the block to change in color over time and may start showing some cracks, using the same side will help prevent cracks from getting worse. Do not use fats, butters, or cooking oils on the salt block. Salt tiles hold heat extraordinarily well, use high heat gloves or a carrying tray to handle your hot tile
Never submerge or place in dishwasher.
With a clean washcloth or sponge, wipe the block clean of any cooking residue. For stubborn spots use a scouring pad. The salt is antimicrobial and antibacterial so there is no need for soap. After cleaning pat dry with a clean towel and allow it to sit for 24 hours before cooking again.
